Björkboda Lock Museum

Björkboda lock museum, is a cultural history museum, showing the history and development of the lock making in the Björkboda village. 

The museum, which is situated in a former workman's dwelling from the 1840's,  was inagurated 1979. Today the museum has a large collection of locks, fittings and other lock production related items. The Björkboda village has a long history of i iron industry, which goes all the way back to 1732, when the first tilthammer was built. 

Both Björkboda and Dalsbruk have been owned by ironmaster families such as Hisning, Af Petersén and Ramsay. 

Opening Hours and Admissions

Björkboda lock museum is open from the end of june until de beginning of august, only from Wednesdays until Sundays 14-18, but other times and dates can be arranged according to agreements.
